One of the main group stage matchups at the 2023 Women’s World Cup is in place, as the United States Women’s National Team takes on the Netherlands on Wednesday night.
Coverage begins at 7 pm ET Wednesday on FOX and the FOX Sports app. The match is scheduled to kick off at 9 pm ET at the Wellington Regional Stadium in New Zealand.
I’ll give you my best bets for these types of matchups throughout the tournament. Basically, if I see an advantage, I’ll share it.

Under 2.5 goals -144
This is going to be a tough game for the US, as the five-crusader formation the Netherlands uses will make it very difficult for a US attack, which had 27 shots and 3.9 expected goals against Vietnam, but wasn’t necessarily smooth. I guess the Americans are still looking for the right lineup.
The defense will be tested much more than the United States faced against Vietnam as well. The situation here is quite interesting. The Netherlands have Vietnam left and will be more than happy with a draw as they can risk beating Vietnam by more than the three the USA won.
It feels like another lower scoring game, so Under 2.5 Goals is the play and I don’t hate taking a bite out of the draw at +265 either.
