The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 heads into the start of Week 2 of the tournament, and you can catch all the action on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
Betting-wise, I’ll give you my best bets daily for these matchups throughout the tournament. Basically, if I see an advantage in a game and I bet on it, I’ll share it.
After a good start, I am 7-5 going into the new week with my best bets in the tournament.
Let’s dive into the fun with a couple of bets I’m making for Matchday 6.

New Zealand against Philippines, 1:30 a.m. ET Tuesday, FS1 and the FOX Sports App
Both teams score No -180
What an absolute dream scenario for co-hosts New Zealand, as they are on three points after the shock 1-0 win over Norway (could have been more) and now have the weakest team in the group. With a win here, the team can ensure that they advance to the knockout round.
By contrast, the Philippines offered nothing in attack against Switzerland, having only the ball 27% of the time, not having a corner kick, not a shot on goal. New Zealand may not have as big of a possession advantage, but it will still be difficult for the Philippines to score.
New Zealand should win but a small part of me is a bit hesitant to back the ferns gain. After all, New Zealand had never won a World Cup game before the win over Norway, and they might be in for a bit of disappointment here.
Another way to play this match is to play New Zealand for a win and under 3.5 goals combination at -145, but I think it’s best to focus on a low scoring game where the Philippines probably won’t score.
This game looks a lot like a 1-0 New Zealand final.

Norway +110 to win
I don’t usually land on the “must/obvious” plays, but I’m going to back Norway here. He didn’t play particularly well against New Zealand, but he had some good chances to score, especially late in the second half.
Switzerland finally broke through against the Philippines after having the ball for most of the match, but I don’t see it as easy here against a desperate team.
Remember, too, that the Swiss entered this tournament with a lot of difficulty scoring goals, so I don’t want to overreact by saying they “got it right” against one of the poorest teams in the competition.
I like that Norway is pulling this off.
