Iran Says EU Sanctions Linked to Russia’s War in Ukraine Are ‘Politically Motivated’.

 | Daily News Post

(Reuters) – Iran “has the right to reciprocate and take equal action” after the European Union imposed new sanctions over Tehran’s support for Russia’s war in Ukraine, the foreign ministry said on Friday.

The ministry also denied that Iran was sending drones to Russia for use in its war with Ukraine.

The European Union said on Thursday it will ban the export of components used in the construction and production of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

It also listed six Iranian nationals under the sanctions regime already in place for Iran’s “military support for Russia in the war in Ukraine (drones) and the regime in Syria (air defense systems)”.

“Linking the war in Ukraine with Iran-Russia cooperation between the two countries has political implications,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in a tweet.
